1. Train smart not insane
It is true that intense training is important for marathon, but you also need to be smart. Workout helps in strengthening your core and keeps you fit. But, a proper planned training will help you in winning. Get into your shoes and time your run. Check how long is it taking to achieve your goal. Don’t fasten the process and drain your energy, a few miles at a time will ease your process of winning.
2. Survey is a must
One of the most important tip is to study your marathon location thoroughly. It is your duty as a marathoner to know about every rest point & aid point, how the marathon location is (flat or inclined), what is the actual map of the marathon, etc. All these things will help you be ready for the actual day of marathon.
3. Be prepared with marathon essentials
Make sure that you have everything ready before the show day. Make a checklist of things that you need for the marathon. Most essential things are comfortable outfit and shoes, liquids to keep you hydrated, a watch to track your run and protein bars for energy. Other than this, first aid for injuries will be provided to you at the marathon location.
